Part 107 (Drone Pilot) Program Requirements
To become a certified drone pilot under Part 107 of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations, you must:
Be at least 16 years old
Be proficient in English
Be physically and mentally fit to fly a drone
Pass the Unmanned Aircraft General – Small (UAG) exam
Obtain a Remote Pilot Certificate from the FAA
Register each drone you own with the FAA
Have a valid government-issued photo ID
Exam requirements
The Part 107 exam is 60 questions long
The exam must be taken in-person at an FAA-authorized testing center
The testing fee is $175
The exam covers topics like airspace regulations, weather conditions, and emergency procedures
Registration requirements
Each drone you own must be registered with the FAA
Registration costs $5 per drone for three years
